I am working on the next step capturing some of my User Driven Design thoughts and that will be coming soon but I thought a patent that Apple recently was granted was both interesting and germaine.
Basically they are patenting turning a players path through a complex video game into a comic they could sell. http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/10/08/12/apple_invention_would_create_custom_comic_book_from_game_experiences.html
In my mind it shares two key features in my definition of User Driven Design. First it’s taking a users unique digital fingerprint. Second its using software to map that into a meatspace product.
For user driven design to be successful I think the input of a fingerprint MUST be easy and unique. Check (easy) and half check (unique). It must also lead to a compelling polished product. If Apple ever actually built this I ~know~ they would deliver on that part.
